According to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the tax filing deadline for 2021 tax returns will be April 18, 2022. By law, a celebrated holiday in Washington D.C. impacts tax deadline for all taxpayers just as federal holidays do. In Washington D.C. April 15th is celebrated as Emancipation Day holiday; therefore, the tax deadline has been adjusted to Monday, April 18, 2022. If you are a Maine or Massachusetts taxpayer, the deadline is Tuesday, April 19, 2022 due to Patriot's Day being on April 18.
Please plan accordingly (to your best ability) to meet to have your paperwork in by March 31, 2022.
